The Amarat section of the Anaizah lived in the Jazira and in the Syrian desert.

They were headed by Fahd bin Khazal. While maintaining a continuing contact with Ibn Saud (who claimed control over the tribe), Fahd bin Khazal and the Amarat remained under the protection of Iraq.
