Ibn Saud abolishes pilgrims' dues
Ibn Saud issued a decree abolishing the dues paid by pilgrims in the course of their journeys to the Holy Places.

Pilgrims had previously had to pay some US$55 each during the Hajj. The abolition of these dues meant a loss of revenue of about US$5 million a year.
