With the Holy City of Makkah under his command, Ibn Saud turned his attention to Jeddah and the Holy City of Madinah. Either would have fallen to a full-scale attack, but Ibn Saud preferred to lay siege to the cities, until the futility of resistance became apparent and they capitulated.
