Despite his arrogant and intemperate behavior, Hassan Al-Aidh was well treated by Abdul Aziz bin Musaid who sent him and his family to face Ibn Saud in Riyadh.
With his usual magnanimity, Ibn Saud forgave Hassan Al-Aidh and even offered to appoint him as Governor of Asir. Hassan Al-Aidh declined the offer and chose to return to the mountain stronghold of Hamalah.
