At the age of 14, Prince Faisal made an official visit to Britain, heading a delegation despatched to congratulate the Allies on their victory in the First World War. In the course of his visit, the young Prince was invited to Buckingham Palace, as a guest of King George V. Prince Faisal gave the King an ornamental sword with a hilt and sheath of solid gold, the hilt inlaid with pearls.
His European travels successfully concluded, Prince Faisal arrived at Hofuf from Bahrain, bringing a letter for Ibn Saud from King George V.
